Umngazi Announced As Finalist For The Imvelo Awards For Responsible Tourism 2013

FEDHASA chairman Eddy Khosa and the 2013 Imvelo Awards for Responsible Tourism committee and judging panel congratulated Umngazi on our efforts to promote responsible tourism through our initiatives and in being selected as one of this year’s finalists.
This year’s Imvelo Awards for Responsible Tourism has been incorporated into the National Department of Tourism’s inaugural Lilizela Awards as the ‘sustainable development’ category (seewww.lilizela.co.za) and the gala national event takes place at the Tshwane Events Centre in Tshwane this September 12th.
To be made for the eleventh time this year, the Imvelo awards have had a huge impact on tourism in South Africa, creating significant awareness of environmental management issues in the industry.
The awards are in line with the National Minimum Standard for Responsible Tourism, the Responsible Tourism guidelines for the South African hospitality industry and the UN World Tourism Organisation’s code of ethics. Imvelo is supported by the Heritage Environmental Rating Programme.
