Guests can look forward to fresh, healthy meals each day, beautifully laid out in Umngazi’s relaxed dining space.

The outside deck, overlooks the swimming pool with serene river views beyond, is an idyllic spot for al fresco dining.

There is no room service at Umngazi. All meals are to be enjoyed in the dining room or on the dining deck only.

KIDS DINING ROOM

The Kids Dining Room is situated adjacent to the main dining room. This bright and airy facility is equipped with high chairs, a communal dining table, separate fridge and a microwave – all of which creates a cozy and inter-active environment in which kids can enjoy a meal under your supervision. The kids dining room is for children 12 years and younger.

BASIL’S BAR

Basil’s (named after Umngazi’s original owner) overlooks the riverfront and is a central buzz point for the hotel.

Quench your thirst with a signature cocktail or ice-cold beer on the deck, and you’ll fully appreciate the allure of this sociable and idyllic location.

SUNSET CRUISE

Enjoy a gentle boat ride up the Umngazi River, meandering through rolling green hillsides. Guests can unwind to the sound of lapping water and the call of the resident African Fish Eagle. Snacks and pre-ordered drinks are available on board.

BUSH BREAKFAST

A short ferry cruise or kayak up river will take you to a secluded destination where a buffet breakfast is set out amid the vibrant indigenous bush.

SEAFOOD FEAST

Saturday Seafood Evenings are a highlight at Umngazi, showcasing coastal cuisine and vibrant Pondo culture.

A succulent combination of fish, shellfish, home-baked breads, fresh salads and hearty soups are prepared to perfection and set to a rhythmic cultural performance.

SUNDAY BRAAI

A traditional South African braai is laid out on the dining deck each Sunday for a perfectly lazy afternoon.
