What a start to our post lockdown Umngazi

It has been a month of excitement, elation, eagerness and emotional reunions.

Our wonderful staff arrived two weeks before for training and to help us get Umngazi looking fabulous and fresh again for our first arrivals on the 1 Sept 2020. The day arrived with so much anticipation and excitement from us all and as our first guests arrived they were welcomed in true Umngazi style with beautiful song and dance and of course a bottle of special bubbles.

The hotel has been alive and abuzz and there has been a wonderful energy that has spilled over onto everyone at this special place. We have loved meeting new guests and welcoming back our regulars, seeing the sparkling new pool fill up every day with little bodies and hearing the squeals of delight from Creative Corner as they race round on their  bikes. The enticing aromas from the kitchen spill out onto our new deck everyday and with the gorgeous balmy and fresh Spring weather the cocktail bar on the deck has been a real hit. Guests have loved seeing the familiar faces of the staff and the chatter of endless story swapping has wafted through the hotel. The days have been glorious and everyone has basked in the early Spring sunshine and enjoyed being outside and appreciating what they had missed for so long.

We are all so appreciative and grateful to have come out the other side, a bit bruised, but with huge smiles on our faces (behind our masks) and so much love in our hearts and we can’t wait to welcome the rest of you back to your home away from home.
