Umngazi Hotel & Spa Accommodation Options

Your choices of accommodation are:

Umngazi Hotel & Spa, a unique full-board beach resort located on the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, South Africa is the perfect escape to relax, reconnect and refresh. Accommodation at Umngazi offers holidaymakers a relaxing refuge from the hustle and bustle of real life.

The hotel boasts 68 thatched units, all including en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers, electronic safes, a hairdryer, fridge, laundry service, tea and coffee station and an outdoor patio with table and chairs. All rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished, meeting all 5 needs of a beach holiday destination.

It is important to note that Umngazi Hotel and Spa is situated on a hillside and spread across the resort. This means that there is a fair amount of walking uphill or a fair distance to get to your room. Due to this, we are unfortunately not wheelchair friendly and only offer 1 room that can accommodate a wheelchair guest comfortably.

The rooms are separated into different categories across the hotel. Below, we chat about each accommodation option and what sets them apart from the others. 

Garden Rooms: 

Our garden rooms offer Double or Family Rooms and are near the main hotel facilities. They are set amid our beautiful lawns and manicured indigenous gardens, they are fantastic for families as selected rooms offer inter-leading rooms. 

Our Garden Rooms feature either two single beds or a large king-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom with a gorgeous outside shower and a patio. There are 12 garden units available at the resort.

River Rooms:

Our River Rooms are Double, Twin or Family rooms that offer spectacular views of the Umgazi River. These rooms are peaceful and relaxing with the sounds of the river and birdlife so near. There are 17 river-facing units at the resort. Bliss!

Our River Rooms feature two single beds or a large king-sized bed with en-suite bathrooms and an outside shower. We have inter-leading room options available for those with kids, this is another fantastic family room option. 

Sea Rooms:

Another great option for families is our Sea Rooms. These rooms have prime locations offering views of the sea whilst maintaining close proximity to the hotel facilities. Like our other family rooms, they also offer inter-leading rooms and an outside shower. These rooms are known for their spectacular views and are a crowd favourite. There are 34 sea-facing units split into 3 different categories – upper, middle and lower bank. 

Our Sea Rooms offer Double, Twin or Family Rooms and are therefore great for friends or couples to share as well.

Emloyeni Deluxe Sea-Facing:

These are as luxurious as their name! These gorgeous suites are for adults only and situated near the river mouth with a panoramic sea view. There are three suites that are located apart from the main hotel and offer secluded hospitality to guests. Emlonyeni has a private plunge pool and deck with private dining.

Emloyeni is ideal for groups who booked together or those looking for that extra bit of privacy. Our rooms offer two single beds or a large king-size bed, an en-suite dressing room and bathroom, a TV lounge and of course, an outside shower.

Honeymoon Deluxe Sea-Facing Standard Rooms:

This is another adults-only room option and offers dreamy sea views. These suites are situated away from the main hotel to ensure your utmost privacy is kept. You will have the sounds of the ocean and a cosy fireplace for our winter guests. You also have the lovely option of access to the Emloyeni TV lounge and private pool. There are four Honeymoon suites available. There are three Honeymoon suites available for booking.

These rooms offer king-sized beds, en suite bathrooms with a bath and a double outside shower and a kitchenette.

Honeymoon Deluxe Sea-Facing Double Storey Rooms:

This romantic hideaway is a must for our newlyweds or anniversary guests! This double-storey room is nestled into the coastal bush and is distanced from the main hotel. It offers floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking views. It is an Umngazi Hotel & Spa favourite! There is only one Honeymoon Deluxe Double Storey Room. 

This room offers king-size beds, en suite bathrooms with a bath and a double outside shower, bar fridge, kitchenette and a cosy fireplace for the winter months. You will also have access to the Emloyeni TV lounge and private pool.

Ntabeni Deluxe Spa Suits: 

And finally, we have our expansive and luxurious Ntabeni Suites! These suites are set up high on the hillside and provide panoramic views of the glistening sea, a view you will never tire of. These suites offer full breakfasts delivered to your room (request at reception) and a chauffeured golf cart service. We have two Ntabeni Suites available. 

Our Ntabeni Suites offer a king-sized bed, en suite bathroom and double outside shower with Spa amenities, a bar fridge and use of the Emlonyeni TV lounge and private pool.
