Umngazi guest tales from the 1960’s

Posted on: November 29, 2017, in Guest Review, Latest News, Letters to Umngazi

Dear Umngazi,
I used to go to Umngazi regularly in August as a small boy; my late Dad was a keen fisherman.  My whole family have the fondest and happiest memories of those days at Umngazi in the 1960’s – very much the Basil Leach era.
I spent last weekend there with family and friends celebrating my 60th birthday – rather than harping on “what it was like then”, we all felt that the new changes are so much for the better, and that Umngazi really is in a class of its own.
I recently had some of my Dad’s old slides digitised, and thought you might like some of the shots of Umngazi “in the day” – the period was 1964/1965.
Yours faithfully,
Peter Whiting
