Recent Events – Pondo Pedal 2019

The 9^th Grindrod Umngazi Pondo Pedal was another successful event and we can’t thank the competitors enough for supporting this event. 

Congratulations to Pierre Loubser for winning the event overall.

Team winners were:

Jonathan & Ian – Mens Team

Nicky & Sally – Ladies Team

Michelle & Steve – Mixed Team

Not only is it an incredibly 3 days of riding, it is also about giving back and supporting the communities around Umngazi.  This year, thanks to the generosity of the riders and Grindrod Bank, Umngazi were able to raise R120 000 towards the Friends of Umngazi Trust to help the community. 

A call was put out before the event for the riders to bring either a soccer or rugby ball and that call was answered loud and clear.  The schools are going to be overwhelmed and delighted when these are distributed.

A special and very big thank you to Craig Ewin for the very generous donation of 50 children’s bicycles – we are all so excited.
