BEST HOLIDAY WILD COAST READS

Posted on: November 29, 2017, in DID YOU KNOW, Latest News

The secret to better holiday reading: don’t take too many books!
Holidays are a welcome chance to lose ourselves between the covers of a book, especially for those of us who struggle to find time to read amid the assorted tyrannies of daily life. So the book that ends up in your suitcase had better be a worthy companion.
Here are some of our favourites:

  1. The Sunburnt Queen by Hazel Crampton (Jacana, 2004)
  2.  The Caliban Shore by Stephen Taylor (Faber & Faber, 2004)
  3.  Shipwrecks and Salvage in South Africa by Malcom Turner (Struik, 1988)
  4. Footprints in Paradise A History of The Wild Coast Edition 2 – Clive Dennison
  5. Traders and Trading Stations of the Central and Southern Transkei 4th Edition – Mike Thompson
  6. Memoirs of a Transkei Trading Family – Harold & Grant Delacour Davis
  7. Once in my beloved Transkei – Harold Bruce
  8. Sidelights on Port St.Johns 1929 – 1938 – Cyril Rooke Prance
  9. Medicinal and Charm Plants of Pondoland (other Rare Books) – Sinegugu Zukulu
  10. A Beautiful Country – Milner Snell
