Umngazi has had a wonderfully busy and exciting Christmas season and we have so enjoyed being so warmly welcomed by our regular guests and getting to know and welcome our new guests. Our first year has just flown by and we are loving being part of all the Umngazi families. Our 2019 December Holiday program was brilliant and much fun was had by all. What can we say other than the weeks were filled with long summer days, chilled cocktails, beach bonfires, delicious meals, a magical African Christmas dinner theme, a Fantasy New Years Eve bash and ending it all off with a New Year’s Day river float! It was a blast and would not have been as much fun without everyone’s involvement and positive vibes – it was a priceless way to end 2019 and start 2020.
We want to thank everyone for their continued and valued support throughout 2019. We love all things Umngazi and want to reassure every one of our commitment to guarantee that this special place stays the magical and secure holiday destination you all know and love. Some other news from our side is that we are in the process of persuading the “powers that be” that it is crucial that the road from the R61 to the hotel be upgraded or at least regularly maintained. We are looking forward to a positive outcome this year.
We are so excited to be hosting the 10th Grindrod Pondo Pedal and the first Pondo Trail Run at Umngazi from 15th – 19th July 2020. This event is very close to our hearts as we meet so many generous hearts who help raise money for our community schools by being part of this bucket list experience.Umngazi is valued by our local community and we continue to build relationships at all levels in the interests that Umngazi remains the serene and safe destination it is celebrated for. We have embarked on some wonderful community engagements, especially with the schools that Umngazi supports, and we can’t thank our guests enough for all their support in our “Make Them Feel Proud” Campaign.
We are incredibly well supported by a dedicated team at the “wheel” and it would be amiss of us not to thank them for their commitment and hard work during the past year. We are so fortunate and grateful for their unfailing assistance and encouragement through the changeover.
We wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2020 and look forward to welcoming you back to beautiful Umngazi.
Pondo greetings from the Real Wild Coast.
