Family and friends gathering, ear-to-ear smiles and a first kiss shared between a newlywed couple are some of the few drops in the downpour of magic moments at Umngazi. It is amazing to be a part of something so special, but to know that the place we call home is the start to so many ‘happy-ever-afters’ is beyond rewarding; it is exhilarating.

“A couple of years ago, just after we got engaged, Andrew took me to Umngazi River Bungalows for a few days, and I fell in love again. Umngazi is the Transkei in comfort. Luxury rooms, three huge meals a day, a lovely gym, tennis courts, babysitters, a beautiful bar and lounge area, a pool with waiters on call and a fully-stocked shop makes Umngazi the ideal way for families to enjoy the Transkei. Just take your fat pants is all I’m saying! Hotel-run day trips such as hikes along the coast, horse riding and exploring the Mangroves are also available for those who like to keep active.
