MEET OUR NEW CHEF, JEAN-PIERRE & RESERVATIONIST MARCELLE

We bid a sad farewell to JJ, Sam, Bella and Emma Pretorius who relocated to the Cape. On behalf of the Umngazi team; we thank JJ and Sam for their valuable contributions over the years and wish you all happiness in your new venture.
We warmly welcome our new chef and Reservationist, Jean-Pierre and Marcelle. They both worked on Luxury Cruise Liners and have enjoyed travelling abroad for a couple of years. They are both South African and met in Australia. They got married on the 1 October 2016.
“We have fallen in love with Umngazi. It’s an amazing peaceful and tranquil place and the Pondo people are so friendly and helpful. It has been absolutely incredible to learn about a new culture and our hearts melt hearing them singing in the kitchen and on Saturday nights.”
Jean-Pierre likes Gordon Ramsay’s simplistic cooking style and his fantastic attitude.
He has a sweet tooth and loves Crème Brule and Caramel Cheese Cake that he makes!
Marcelle enjoys decorating their new house, walking on the beach, watching movies, playing tennis and planning their beach wedding.
