**Press Release: Reassurance Following Recent Incident**

The Umngazi family and team are immensely relieved and grateful for the safe return of Alize Van Der Merwe, who was rescued safely yesterday after having been kidnapped in Mthatha on Friday. We have been deeply shaken by this unfortunate event, and our thoughts remain with her and her family during this time of healing.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated task forces, including Andre Snyman (eblockwatch), Serentinel, the HAWKS and SAPS, whose tireless efforts and coordination with our team and other networks led to her safe recovery. The community and our staff have shown incredible resilience and solidarity throughout this challenging week, and will continue to work together to ensure that justice is served.

The well-being of our guests is, and always will be, our top priority. We continue to collaborate closely with law enforcement and other relevant authorities to enhance the security of our premises and ensure a safe environment for all who visit Umngazi. It’s paramount that Umngazi continues to broaden its network of security which was instrumental in resolving this awful ordeal.

This unique and precious destination on the Wild Coast remains a sanctuary for both our guests and the community it supports. We look forward to welcoming you with the warm and genuine hospitality that defines Umngazi. Together, we will rise above this, standing strong as ever.
